A love of both photography and the Lakeland fells are my motivation and inspiration for making images. Successful landscape photography is all about patience and light. Whilst we can’t necessarily predict light quality, half the battle is simply being there with a camera when conditions look promising.

I feel privileged to be able to earn a living doing something I thoroughly enjoy. If my photographs convey that passion then I will have succeeded with my photography.

For the technophiles I currently use a full frame Nikon Z8 (45.7mp) camera for the majority of my work. I still have large format Ebony RSW45 and Hasselblad XPAN panoramic film cameras but I'll be honest and say I can't now remember the last time I used them. That said they're going no where. They usually sit in a display cabinet but I'm sure they'll find their way back onto the fells at some point. I also use drones for aerial work which I operate commercially in the 'Open A3 Category'.

I opened my own gallery in Keswick ‘Viewpoints’ in July 2009.
