Derwent Water from Great Bay
Great Bay can be found at the southern end of Derwent Water close to the Ladore Falls and Chinese Bridge. A raised walkway links the two sides of the lake as the area is prone to flooding whenever the level of the lake rises. The photograph was taken early morning in March when the frozen ground allowed easy access to this usually marshy area. Skiddaw dominates the horizon.
