Aviation
Low level military aircraft are as much a part of the Lake District as Herdwick Sheep. Spend a couple of weekdays in the Lakes and you will be unlucky if you don’t see at least one that leaves you thinking ‘bloody hell - that was low’!
The Lake District National Park is located within one of the UK military Low Flying Areas or LFA’s for short - in the case of the Lakes, LFA17 to be precise.
If photographing military aviation interests you there are unique opportunities for those willing (or daft enough) to haul heavy photographic gear onto the fells. The only thing you will need in enormous quantities is patience.
