What’s in the Camera Bag(s)?

.
Probably the question I'm most frequently asked is ‘what gear do you use'? Cameras come and go especially in this digital age but the following is current as of Nov 2024. I’ll stick to the basic camera, lenses, camera bags, tripods and filters.
Nikon Z System (Digital)
Nikon Z8 Body (45.7 mp)
Nikon Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S
Nikon Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S
Nikon Z 400mm f/4.5 VR S
Camera Bags
F-Stop Tilopa 50L
Gitzo Adventure 30L
Filters
I changed my filter system from Lee to Kase back in 2022. Essentially the same size etc as the Lee 100 filters I've used for the past 25 years the Kase filters are however made from optical grade glass rather than resin. I currently have 0.6 & 0.9 Hard and Medium ND grads, together with a 1.2 'reverse' and a 1.4 Centre ND Grad. I also have the Kase 6 & 10 Stop ND's and a Circular Poloariser. The beauty of a filter manufacturer like Kase or Lee is that one filter system can basically be used on any of my cameras and lenses regardless of manufacturer or format. I used to have a lot more filters than I do today especially ND Grads but as the dynamic range of digital cameras has increased I've found some filters such as the 0.3 (1 Stop) Hard and Medium ND Grads are rarely if ever used. I also can't remember the last time I used a soft ND Grad so for now at least I've dropped these from the camera bag.
Tripods
Gitzo Series 2 GT2531LVL Levelling Tripod with Arca Swiss Z1DP Ball Head (Quickset Classic)
